This is a story of two people with such darkness in their lives. The only way for them to come into the light was to meet each other. I really felt like I was watching a movie at times. It was sexy, filled with suspense and angst and poignancy. I'm sorry it had to end. It'll be a few days before I'll be able to start another book. Veronica and Ian were something interesting to behold and I was all about it. Ian saw through Veronica's shield and really got her on a level no other being reached. The twists and turns create some confusion to the reader so it isn't a one, two, three and I got it type of read which I loved and something Tracy Wolff can really pull off. I've been reading Wolff for some time and I'm a loyal reader forever and always.
Veronica has been in the spotlight since she could remember with famous parents and then moving into Hollywood herself. It isn't just her actress status that makes Veronica famous and well-known, no, it's how absolutely gorgeous she is. Veronica literally oozes sensuality and she uses it like a weapon. Until she met Ian, she never really enjoyed or even felt during sex so that should tell you something.
Ian is a journalist which means he's part spy, part psychologist and part fantastic writer. He's perceptive, nosy and beyond attracted to Veronica. For him, however, it isn't just attraction to her physical beauty but also the vulnerability and person that is hidden beneath the facade she wears around. Ian does his part to shield Veronica, to help her and to open her up to a passion that she never thought she'd get.
Very intense and surprising. Once I hit the 25% mark, I couldn't put it down.
Ian and Veronica are definitely not your typical couple, with walls so high they seem impenetrable. They push each other and cracks appear, as well as some sizzling chemistry. It's a game of tug of war to get what they want while protecting themselves.
Strange things begin to occur and shake them both, endangering their tenuous beginnings and any trust they are developing. Twists and turns raise more questions than answers. When Veronica finally breaks and tells her secrets, it is Ian's undoing. Distance, danger and lies threaten to destroy their very existence.
Self-preservation is no longer working and only strength of will, acceptance and love can bring them together.
Lovegame is not an easy book to read if you have experienced personal trauma. It IS filled with hope for two very damaged people searching for the other half of their soul. Lovegame is a journey filled with land mines and navigating that mine field to find the beauty, healing and peace beyond.
I'm so glad I read this book. It's a fantastic romantic story with an interesting twist. I suddenly have a new favorite author.
Wow. Powerful, intense, sexy, psychological thriller. Well written love story/psychological journey. Roller coaster ride. An interesting insight to Hollywood stars and their not so glamorous lives and tragedies.
Tracy Wolff has really written another great read! Lovegame proved to be entertaining, engrossing, romantic, and endearing!! I loved EVERY part. Without giving any of the book away let me just say that the suspense had me guessing even until the very end!
Ahhhhh, THANK YOU, TRACY WOLFF! Finally a quality fun read. For a long time, I thought that romance novels always had to be poorly written and full of mistakes. I can't help but find mistakes everywhere I go (perhaps I was a proofreader in another life) and they really just take me out of the story, but I only found a couple of grammar errors and three inconsistencies in the entire book.
As for the story, it more than makes up for any aforementioned fault. I LOVED the story and there was an ACTUAL PLOT with round characters who had depth and wits about them. Usually I finish books just to feel closure, but I was truly sad when this one ended. For once, I wish that this was a series that took me to the next chapter of the protagonists' lives! I will just have to find other Tracy Wolff books and hopefully soon another romance writer like this one.
